DCIP Episode 12: What’s A Classic Rap Album? Featuring Joe Hova

Every time a new project drops, it doesn’t take long before Social Media begins to claim that said project is either trash or a classic. It doesn’t matter the artist, it doesn’t matter the context behind the project, it’s always going to get a label, immediately.

Today, we wanted to ask, “what exactly IS a classic album, and how do we define it when it comes to rap?” A question that Ron, AJ and guest Joe Hova (of Joe Hova’s MindFrame, @JoeHovasMF on twitter) setout to answer. They debate whether or not rap has had a classic since Common’s “Be”, if “My Beautiful Dark Fantasy” is really as strong as we regard it and so much more.

Shoutout to @JoeHovasMF again for joining us!
