Back in 08, there was a site that served as the foundation of the hip-hop sector of Black Twitter: allhiphop.com. This site is where I got my interviews, engaged in heated debates, learned about new music and even downloaded albums ahem (il)legally.
While promoting his own album, Terrence Howard took time to call out Jamie Foxx. He thought Jamie’s music lacked artistry. While this moment provided one of my favorite interviews of all time, my first reaction was “Wait! Terrence Howard has an album!!?!”
I knew Terrence was a self taught guitarist but little did I know he has aspirations of being an artist. So as All Hip Hop always did, they came through with the album. Needless to say, it doesn’t disappoint.
Terrence Howard’s debut, Shine Through It, is everything you think it could be plus more. Don’t take my word for it, check out his lead single yourself.
If you’re interested in hearing the album in its entirety, and trust me, you are, then check it out below. I URGE you to listen to this. If you never listen to anything else I say, PLEASE listen to this album.
