Disclaimer: Never ever try to find this web series by simply typing ‘keloid’ into the YouTube search bar. Keyword searches are your friend. The more keywords, the better. I nearly didn’t have the stomach to type this but I was able to click away before I saw too many grotesque stills. If you’re one of those people who enjoy Dr. Pimple Popper videos then maybe you would be delighted by what the search results yielded but you should be ashamed. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.
Don’t worry, I did that so you wouldn’t have to. The link is posted at the bottom of this post.
AJ, as usual, hipped me to this series by passing the link along. I was drawn in instantly. As a fan of sci-fi and fantasy, I can notice the lack of diversity in the genre. Remember where you were when the internet threw a fit when they thought Jon Boyega was a Jedi?
As more black filmmakers begin to kick the door down, I only hope POC sci-fi storytellers are running in. Sure, we need Moonlight but we also need more movies such as Sleight as well.
This is why I URGE you to give Keloid a shot. The first episode will only require 6 minutes of your time but I assure you, you will be waiting for episode 2. Enjoy.
