The Ticket Window: CFB Week 8

betting-blog480

Another week in the green as we went 3-2 which moves us to 9-5-1 (60%) since I started sharing picks with y’all. Again, I’m not here to entertain you. I’m here to help you make some money. To the picks for week eight we go.

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (-4,5) @ UConn Huskies

UConn is no longer winless but they are still a terrible football team. The Huskies are coming off a road win over a Temple team that is in a rebuilding mode as well. Tulsa is coming off of a solid win over a decent Houston team at home last week and this is still the same team who gave Toledo all they could handle. Take Tulsa minus the points and this is where we should go up 1-0 on the day as this is a 11am CST kickoff.

Georgia Southern Eagles (+7) @ UMass Minutemen

These are two winless teams who are equally bad. The Sagarin ratings have this game as a pick’em to Georgia Southern favored by one point on a neutral field and it’s not like UMass has a real home field advantage. This makes for a great spot to take a full touchdown. Weird stat because of a canceled game against USF but UMass has not played a game since September 30th (21 days between games). 2:30pm CST kickoff.

Oklahoma State Cowboys (-7) @ Texas Longhorns

Normally this would be a great spot to back the Horns at home as underdogs but after what we saw last week in the Red River Rivalry where QB Sam Ehlinger got knocked out on the sideline yet was questionably sent back in the game in the same drive where he threw the ball away on a game deciding 4th down. Texas also had many breakdowns in the secondary against Oklahoma and the pass is only going to get harder to defend against the likes of Cowboys WR’s James Washington, Marcell Ateman, and Jalen McCleskey. The lack of a run game for Texas will be even more defined this week as Oklahoma State should roll by 10 or more. 2:30pm CST kickoff.

Ole Miss Rebels (+7) vs LSU Tigers

This is a prime letdown spot for LSU on the road after back to back wins against Florida (rival) and Auburn (Top 10). Even with the great home win over Auburn last week I do not trust this LSU team. They haven’t played a full game since dominating BYU who we now know is just really bad this season. Ole Miss is by no means a dominant team but I’ll take a TD with the home team who is capable of scoring points. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if LSU lost this game outright. 6:15pm CST kickoff.

Iowa Hawkeyes (+2) @ Northwestern Wildcats

Northwestern just hasn’t impressed me. Their three wins come against Nevada, Bowling Green and an injury-riddled Maryland team. Iowa’s two losses are by 2 points to Penn State and by 7 to Michigan State, both are top 25 teams. Give me what I feel should be a 3 point favorite in Iowa on the road catching points. 11am CST kick.Iowa_Hawkeyes_logo.svg.png

As always, good luck and be sure to check back in tomorrow morning for the NFL edition of The Ticket Window.
