I have a confession: I love television. I love bad movies, I love reality TV, I love cartoons, I love music videos, I love cinematic masterpieces. Yes, entertainment tube! EAT MY BRAIN!
Every now and then, a show I love seems to fall through the cracks. I find myself engulfed in something wonderful and wishing I had someone to recap the episodes with. Other times I feel like I have watched every single thing worth paying attention to and need someone to give me a suggestion.
I know, I know. You’re wishing you could be the one I turn to. The one who could trade quotes and discuss theories. The one to share in the “I KNEW IT” and “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!” moments. The one to smile proudly when you get to say “I put her on.” Well, wish no longer my friends. This is the first post of TheKidsWearCrowns series “When you reach the end of tv.” (Ok, that’s a working title. If you are more clever than I, give me a better one and you get a t-shirt.)
Rectify tells the story of Daniel Holden (Aden Young) who spends almost 20 years on death row for the rape and murder of a young woman before he is exonerated by DNA evidence. Daniel has to adjust to life on the outside while also struggling with his internal demons. He questions his involvement in the murder and keeps the viewer wondering if he really committed the crime. The series wraps in 4 seasons with all questions answered.
It’s a slow burn at times and often frustrating but well worth the watch. I have no doubt that you will not regret tuning in. Make sure you let me know what you think!
