5. Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment – Surf

Chance the Rapper is Morris Day and The Social Experiment is The Time. This album was unfairly labeled as a Chance album, but he’s just here to lend his quirkiness to a talented group of individuals. The results are great.

3. Hiatus Kaiyote – Choose Your Weapon 

Same as above.

2. Florence + The Machine – How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful

This is becoming a trend, eh?

1. Kendrick Lamar – To Pimp a Butterfly

Don’t tell me you were surprised?

Albums that barely missed the cut:

• Big Sean – Dark Sky Paradise
• Sufjan Stevens – Carrie & Lowell
• Curren$y – Pilot Talk III/More Saturday Night Care Tunes
• Future – Monster/Beast Mode/56 Nights (I know Monster came out last year but this is a trilogy to me)
• Boosie Badass – Touchdown 2 Cause Hell
• Kehlani – You Should Be Here
• Snoop – Bush

A Few Albums that disappointed me:

• Drake – If You’re Reading this, glad to know you’re awake now because you fell asleep while listening
• A$AP Rocky – A.L.L.A. (not bad, just not great. Mediocre rap albums <)
• Passion Pit – Kindred (siiiiiiiigh)
• Dom Kennedy by Someone Pretending to be Dom Kennedy

Albums that we all should be looking forward to:

• Leon Bridges – Comin Home (came out Tuesday, but still)
• Kanye West – Swish(?) (He trolled us for Yeezus, hopefully this is the REAL album)
• Drake – Views from the 6 (Seriously Drake, stop making trap music)
• Nas – TBA
• Jay Rock – TBA
• Tame Impala – Currents
• Bilal – In Another Life
• Miguel – Wildheart
• Vince Staples – Summertime 06
• Frank Ocean -…I don’t know…
• Beach House – Depression Cherry
• Of Monsters and Men – Beneath the Skin
• Disclosue – Caracal
