Alabama Governor Robert Bentley Resigns, Booked Into Montgomery County Jail

Former Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has been booked into Montgomery county jail and resigned from his position as impeachment proceedings began to heat up in the state capital. Bentley’s resignation comes on the heels of a series of scandals dating back to 2015 when his ex-wife filed for divorce.  A series of unfortunate events later it was found that Bentley was having an affair with Rebekah Mason, yada yada yada, you can read more here: AL.COM

That’s THREE, count them, THREE prominent members of the Alabama government booked for criminal activities and forced to resign.

Former House Speaker Mike Hubbard was sentenced to prison for four years, with eight years probation and ordered to pay $210k on 12 FELONY ethics violations, back in July 2016. Former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court Roy Moore was suspended from the bench and awaited a hearing and trial by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary for multiple ethics code violations, including abuse of authority and interference with federal-level court rulings and injunctions related to same sex marriage. Following the completion of the investigation and a unanimous vote by the Court of the Judiciary, Moore was suspended without pay for the remainder of his term in late 2016. Moore was found guilty of all six charges against him of violation of the canons of judicial ethics.

Trash. Trash. Trash.

This state needs help. It won’t change. It’s one of the most corrupt in the country. It’s dominant party (Republicans) won’t change because they don’t need to change because so much of the state would rather not be viewed as liberal, no matter what the cost.

So until you want to come into the 21st century from a social standpoint, continue electing the same people Alabama.
